I Am Calm
This a closed-eye experience that progressively guides you to a place where you can successfully focus your mind and be able to bring on an unusually calm, stress-free state only with your thoughts.
It begins with a few minutes of deliberate breathing to direct your focus into your body, using longer exhalations of the breath to bring forth relaxation.
The inner focus is deepened by imagining ‘spaces’ in parts of your body. This slows brain waves and further releases tension from the body.
You then mentally repeat the phrase ‘I am Calm’ over and over as the only thought in your mind. This is a simple but powerful meditative technique that gets better with repetitive practice.
